Card Making Background

I fell in love with card making about three years ago.  I thought I would head in the direction of scrap booking, but I made a few cards one day just to try out some things and absolutely fell in love with it.  I often would become frustrated when I would be at a party or shower and see that several people, including myself, bought the same card.  Great minds think alike? Maybe.  Anyway, the more I thought about it I decided I would invest my time and effort with card making and now I love it. I've participated in a card drive where 1000's of folks across the country made cards to send off to our troops so that they could send them back home to their loved ones for various occasions.  It was awesome to be able to participate in something like that.  There are two blogs I follow religiously and am continuously inspired by:

Kristina Werner at http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/  and  Jennifer McGuire at http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/ . I encourage you to take a moment to check out their sites.

I first heard about Stampin' Up! on Kristina Werner's blog - she used to work for the company and would use their products here and there while demonstrating a card on her site.  She seemed to use Melon Mambo a lot and I kept thinking, "I love that ink name!" The color was also fabulous.  I then looked into the company and fell in love with their product.  I have been a demonstrator for just over a year, slowly building my business, and loving every minute of it.

I hope to inspire you to do something crafty.

First card I made.

Learning new layouts, ideas, and techniques from an online card class.

Trying out new stamps and ideas.

One of my favorites that I made for my mom.  I often spend more time on a card for the people I love most. :)

I do not work for, am affiliated with, or advertise for any company other than Stampin' Up!.  All products I use I own and purchase with my own money (or have won through various online contests).   Any links I provide  (other than Stampin' Up!) are for the sole purpose of just sharing a product I love.  I am a Stampin' Up Demonstrator and do receive commission on purchases that are made through my Stampin' Up! website.

I love to share ideas and maybe you do too! If you make anything based off what you see here on my blog, all I ask is that you give credit where credit is due.  Thank you! h
