And the winner will be...

Many of us are looking forward to the ALA Youth Media Awards happening Monday, January 28 at 8 AM PT.  Quite often we hear this described as "The Oscars" for books.  I am incredibly anxious to hear the winners of all the awards, but I am always most excited for the winner of  The Newbery award.

There are a variety of anticipated, hopeful winners being discussed on Twitter and various websites and blogs.  I received an email from The Booksource listing their predictions (here is the link) and asking for our votes (and the chance to win free books!).

So my vote is...

And...

is a very close second.

Now, I can't say I can give an honest prediction of what will win since I have not read everything that is a candidate.  It seems that Lions of Little Rock by Kristin Levine is getting some buzz.  As is Starry River of the Sky by Grace Lin.  I did read One For the Murphy's by Lynda Mullaly Hunt and Jennifer A. Nielsen's The False Prince which I would love to see both get some Newbery honor love.

So, in celebration of the ALA Youth Media Awards taking place on Monday, I'm giving away one copy of...
2011's Newbery recipient.  The copy is a new Scholastic paperback edition.

All you need to do to enter is comment below by Sunday, 1.27.13, 8:00 PM PT, either your prediction for the 2013 Newbery winner or what you hope will win.  I'm eager to see what everyone is thinking. I will choose and announce one winner on Monday, January 28, 2013.  Check back here on my blog, Monday, after 3 PM PT for the lucky winner!

Giveaway rules: You must be living in the current U.S. Only one entry per person, please. One comment = one entry. All entries must be submitted by Sunday, 1/27/2013 @ 9:00 PM PT for the chance to win. Thank you and good luck! :)

    1. Thank you for wanting to participate, but out of respect and consideration for Donna who replied on time, I'm going to say no. I will be doing another giveaway in the near future, so look out for tweets for that or check in on my blog. Thanks for your consideration. :)
